Tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
My name is Ella Rappich and I'm a 20 years old actor from Sigtuna where I live with my family. Currently I'm based in Gothenburg with two friends of mine.
How did you became an actor (heard that you became casted to “Störst av allt”)?
Yes that's correct haha… I never had these thoughts of becoming an actor but the casting director Maggie Widström casted for Sweden’s first Netflix series “Störst av Allt”. The production company FLX had a certain room in our school where people in certain ages were allowed to apply. Me and some friends went by and I remember that we missed a lesson which was funny haha.. We were commissioned to improve a phone call that was filmed and the whole situation was so bad that I got a total blackout. Weeks later they called me and I apparently went further in a very long selection process and eventually I got the role as Amanda.
The actor industry seems to be very tough. What is your advice if you wanna pursue a career as an actor?
My advice to everyone that wants to pursue an acting career is to not give up. After my participation in “Störst av Allt” I realized how fortunate that I've been. The subsequent success came as a shock, from never being recognized at the street to strange looks and people that wanted to say hi. It still feels a bit surrealistic. There are a lot of hardworking and intelligent individuals in the film industry characterized by high demands. Don't hesitate to contact production companies or sign up at different casting sites, but overall have a digital presence.
You are up to date with the film “Lyckoviken”, do you want to act your whole life our do you have other plans in short terms or in long terms?
As I'm only 20 years old and have my whole life ahead... I'm pursuing an acting career but still open for more in life, there are so many opportunities for the future. Gothenburg University offers a course in global studies which I study. Having a background in social studies with a specialization within international relations allows me to vent my great commitment in global justice. A career as a diplomat would be fun, but as a creative I also emphasize the importance to express thoughts and feelings which you can do as screenwriter, author, film producer. Don’t forget my interests in design! It would be fun to create my own design interior or having my own fashion brand where I can put my creative edge into it. Particularly in interior design so I may pursue a career within that area. I want to do everything haha.. journalism is also very interesting!!
Alongside your acting, how do you spend your time, do you have any other interests?
Alongside the acting, I spend my time together with friends and I paint a lot. The painting allows me to feel and express creativeness.
The best versus the worst with the acting profession?
Alright! let's start with the worst haha… There are hugely high demands on performing at your very best. There is no space for bad days, sometimes you can be tired or wake up at the wrong side, and then you have cameras shoved into your face. The recordings rely on every person's performance so if you fail a scene then the whole team needs to start over. The best with acting is to be a part of the process, to outlet one’s creativity and to have the opportunity to work with a super talented team with a lot of dedication.
If you need to choose 3 fashion brands, which ones would you choose?
I contradict today's business model with fast fashion consumption and the consumer society. So purchasing second hand clothes is always the best based on an environmentally and sustainability perspective.
What's an on to go outfit á la Ella Rappich?
A pair of vintage boots, wide pants can be booth jeans or trousers with a nice white t-shirt.
