We arrived at 5.30 pm on a Friday evening and instantly started our evening with a round of Gin & Tonics. Sensum actually offers the possibility to book a Gin & Tonic tasting which we have tried in the past and really recommend, if you like us enjoy gin. As we sipped our pre dinner drinks we decided to order some snacks; the Boquerones with bread and ´nduja and padrones are a must, and if you haven’t tasted nduja this is the ultimate place to pop your nduja cherry with. We also ordered the chicken liver paté and broccoli, perfect snacks to tickle your appetite leaving you craving for more.
Sensum offers a selection of medium sized dishes, so we suggest ordering a couple to share. Yes, this concept is becoming increasingly common, but Sensum really delivers, trust us. We ordered Hamachi, octopus with jalapeño, tartar of ox with tarragon, the entrecôte and the vela schnitzel. Yes we know what you are thinking, a lot of meat, but Sensum offers several dishes that are with fish or vegetarian. The Schnitzel was absolutely fantastic and the ox marrow really helped this dish an explosion of flavours. On the lighter side, but of equal quality we loved the Hamachi, raw marinated with almond, gooseberry and fig leaf oil, loving the combo.
You might think that after all that meat we could possible not have ordered dessert, well think again. We are not found of menus with infinite amount of desserts to chose from, keep it short and make sure your offerings are a sweet masterpiece. Because that’s how Sensum does it, two desserts, churros with lingonberries and salted caramel and the chocolate with sea buckthorn and macadamia. We ordered both and simultaneously we might have ordered two or maybe four more Gin & Tonics, but hey who’s counting.
Go and book Sensum for your next dinner, one of our true favourites right now.
