The wine industry is complex, and it contains an almost infinite number of producers, all with very varying quality and knowledge. Having understood that; it becomes even more interesting to find those wine makers with rich heritage that not only produce a product, but their whole existence is revolving around wine. The Allegrini family is certainly one of the top family wine makers in the world, dating back to the 16th century. Here nothing is left to chance, and the knowledge is passed on from generation to generation ensuring a never-ending supply of top-quality wines. On the vast estate you will find Corvina, Rondinella and Sangiovese growing in a breathtaking terraced scenery. Whatever your personal pallet prefer the Allegrini family will have a wine for you.
When the world is starting to open up and you will have the possibility to travel again, we highly suggest making a weekend trip to visit the Allegrini Estate and experiencing true authentic wine making in its natural habitat. Tour the vast Estate, sample their wide range of exquisite wines and perhaps, if you are in luck stay overnight at the impressive Villa Della Torre.
The Villa Della Torre was originally built as a private home for the Allegrini family in the 1560s with inspiration from ancient Rome. Luckily for all of us it is now open for public. Take a stroll through the garden or visit the onsite chapel and carefully sip some wine in cave. You will not be disappointed.
Might we suggest ending your fantastic weekend in the very picturesque and historically important nearby village of Verona. Offering top level restaurants and of course the very famous outdoor Verona Arena. If you are in luck, they are playing Romeo and Juliet. Could a weekend getaway be more romantic than that? Probably not.
